When Angels Weep
Give sorrow words. The grief that does not speak,
Whispers the o’er fraught heart and bids it break.
~ William Shakespeare
There are no words of comfort.
A dear friend lost her eldest son two weeks ago today in a horrible car accident that was a genuine accident.
This morning, on his way to work, her husband died of a heart attack.
What can I say to this beautiful woman who has lost so much?

OMG, what can anyone say to that?
ARGH that's terrible! I don't know what could be said, but maybe friends could organize to keep her company (if she wants it - even being there without talking could help) and make sure she eats over the next few weeks. Hopefully she has family in the area too. So sad.
OMG... there aren't enough words capable of comforting your friend. The only thing I could add would be to be there for her when she needs it and give her all the support you are able. At times like these, actions can speak louder than words.
just bob
That is agonizing. And I totally agree with Bob--actions, not even necessarily asking, but just doing...God, I'm sorry...
Beyond heartbreaking.
Nothing. You just give as many hugs as you can.
That is tragic. I will keep her in my prayers.
There is nothing you can say. The best thing you can do is be there for her.
No words, Just love and comfort.
