Single working mom of two teenaged kids currently living paycheck to paycheck who spends every spare moment sitting on her back porch with a cheesy piece of garbage book, a cigarette and a cup o' hot joe.....there's more of us than you think.

What do you do to get ready for hurricane season? Get the kites out?
I haven't yet had a chance to read yor whole blog. My question is what do you do that reqires you to have hurricane training? Per above post I think something a little stronger than a kite. More like hang glider.
ve - Kites are for pansies, we use blimps.
I'm a member of the State Emergency Response Team for Health and Medical here in the State of Florida. Specifically, I'm a unit leader for logistics (material). Oh...sorry...leman's terms...when a storm hits, we determine what is needed in each affected area, purchase and transport those items, basically make sure everyone gets what they need (i.e. pharmaceuticals, oxygen, porta-lets, water, nurses and doctors even.) We prepare every year before hurricane season but we support any natural or man-made disaster. Everything from wildfires, tornadoes, and floods to biological warfare.
Glad to see you're back. I missed you!
