I Need A Catnap

That's my Joshua sleeping

Crazy busy at work.

Crazy busy at home.

Haven't had a free minute to myself in quite a few days.

Leah posted some very good blogging rules; one of which I am breaking right now. Why is it our children wait until the very last minute to do their homework assignments. Homework assignments given to them WEEKS in advance. When I go home at night I like to relax, read a book, speand time surfing the web, go to bed early; any number of things other than running to Walgreens to get index cards because you "have to have them tonight because this is due tomorrow...." Next up is a history project due in two weeks that was assigned before the holidays. Has anything been done? According to her it has but to me the accumulation of three resources is not enough to count towards a history project that has to look like this:

Only twice as tall, like this:

Good thing for me the kids will be with their dad this weekend so that HE can be in charge of making sure things get done.

Oh wait, he won't do that because "that's not fun."

Guess I'll be busy next week as well.

Be sure to remind them you can't work next Sunday. We you not doing a history project the last time the Steelers were in the Super Bowl.

I don't remember, was I? Was that the one where we dressed up the Ken dolls as Knight Templar guys and burned them at the stake? I did a good job on that one.....I mean Spawn did a good job on that one.

My favorite is when they tell you at 7:45 a.m. that they have a project due at 8:45 a.m. of that very same morning. You look around in a panic trying to find something to be their science fair project. Then in a moment of ddesperation you grab the dead fern from the shelf shove it in your child's hadn and say "here is your project. Plants die without water." Then you rush them out the door to the bus. You see your child's face pressed to the back of the bus window screaming "But I NEED A REPORT!" Yeah I don't know what you're talking about.

Just do one on existentialism and leave the board blank...

Oh dear. I can honestly say I don't miss those days.

Perhaps a pitcher of margaritas would help? I'll be right over...lol

Bullshit. Call them every few hours or so, and get on the phone with him, and BUG THE CRAP out of them about the projects. At least maybe the bulk of it will get done. Tell the ex that it MUST be at least half done by the end of this weekend, it is imperative. Ex's aren't very smart. He'll believe you. My ex has gotten extremely good at helping with things like this, so I rarely have to pull that trick anymore. LOL. Good luck, and have a nice peaceful weekend.

Oh, yes! I am sure I own stock in the note card/poster board companies. With one just starting college and the other about to graduate high school this year I have stopped impulsively buying posters and foamcore boards every time I happen to see them just because I KNOW what happens to us all when they announce they have a major project due on Monday.
At the end of the semester I really think the teachers ought to grade the parents as well, only I guess they have absolutely no idea what has happened...
